In the dynamic wholesale wine and spirits industry the need for real time, actionable information to effectively run your business is paramount. Knowing which brands are moving and at what velocity, which field sales reps are making or exceeding their quotas, and having knowledge and visibility of out of stock items are all key performance measures to every wine and spirits wholesaler. Too often this information can only be found by creating and analyzing multiple spreadsheets or requesting data from other associates and other means. In either case, the time, accuracy, and manipulation of the data are costly to your business.Indigo Olive Software partnered with Sengen and designed a software offering for self-service analytics and reporting specifically for wine and spirits wholesalers. The IOS BI (Business Intelligence) product is cost effective, easy to use, and quick to deploy as compared to other offerings in the industry. IOS BI presents data to an end-user through the concept of a ‘view; and each view has various key performance indicators that are important to that user or group. The sales manager ‘view’ is a different set of data from that of an operations manager ‘view’. The information is displayed in table, graph, or dashboard view. The table based view allows a user to drill down to the item level and all data can be exported to Excel or Word for further analysis. The end user can also select from a palate of graphs to determine how the information should be displayed. Robust security insures that only certain users can have access to certain data or reports. IOS BI is delivered with a battery of preformatted reports specific to and most commonly used in the wine and spirits business. However, IOS BI does allow users to create ‘ad hoc’ reports as well. A pivoting feature also exists.
